Yacht Show
Yacht Show
The 19th annual Monaco Yacht Show was held September 23rd through the 26th. An estimated 30,000 people arrived over the three-day event, making it one of the busiest in recent memory in terms of foot traffic. However, this years show seemed to feature fewer businesses in attendance and fewer big yacht unveilings.
The lack of big-budget releases can be due to the economic downswing finally forcing even the rich and famous to tamp down their spending habits. It can also be to avoid negative publicity. Some publications love nothing more than to rail against the owners Read the rest of this entry »

‘Mummy, this is really exciting!’ screeched a little girl on Plymouth Hoe, clearly surprised to find herself totally enthralled by… a yacht race of all things.
She can’t have been older than eight and had obviously been an unwilling player in the fever which gripped Plymouth in the lead up to the second leg of the 34th America’s Cup World Series.
She had clearly been dragged up to The Hoe, loth and sullen of face, by parents determined to make sure she witnessed history in the making. They undoubtedly reasoned that she’d thank Read the rest of this entry »

Many people consider purchasing a yacht as a luxury but I see yacht as an investment and not a luxury. I have reasons supporting my claim. Many people think that owning a yacht is monolithic and maintaining it costs a lot. But with people being more concerned in sail rides and yachting, yachts have become the choice of the season.
Because of its demand, managing companies have asked yacht owners to give their yacht for rent. What’s more, the managing companies will pay the rent for the yacht and they will also take care and maintain Read the rest of this entry »

Well if you have always desired to have a boat of your own, you can rest assured that your dream can become a reality. It is not so unmanageable to build your own boat and indeed custom made boats are quite the rage and democratic with so many people around the world. When it comes to the material you can choose from fiber glass or even plywood to make that dream boat of yours.

When you are considering yacht insurance the first thing that you have to consider is whether you want a plan that covers a single voyage, or a plan that is based on a particular period of time.
The difference between the two is as follows:
Single Voyage Yacht Insurance – This covers your yacht when you ar undertaking a specific voyage that you have agreed previously with the insurance company. This can be a good plan to go for if you don’t use your yacht very often, and most Read the rest of this entry »

Yacht Party
Yacht Party
Yes, this is America and my, ohio my, how we like to party. From the weekend pool company to the advanced soiree, given any pretense, we’re bound to invite some acquaintances and make it a reality. While the various forms and pretenses abound, what I would like to address is the seeming lack of advanced yacht parties. Yes, the yacht – like Ivy League fashion – has made a rather impractical and successful comeback.
Here is my thesis: any company – especially a well-planned one – can have the same transformative effects as an out-of-body experience. Read the rest of this entry »
